Position Overview

As a Bartender at Amato Trattoria, you bring the bar to life through genuine hospitality, professionalism, and precision. You'll craft classic and signature cocktails, engage warmly with guests, and uphold the standards of quality and consistency that define our brand. This role requires a balance of efficiency and personality; you'll represent the heart of our bar while maintaining seamless coordination with the service and kitchen teams.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve beverages with accuracy, consistency, and speed according to Amato Trattoria's recipes and presentation standards. Deliver exceptional guest experiences through warm greetings, engaging conversations, and genuine hospitality. Maintain strong product knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine, with an emphasis on Italian varietals and seasonal features. Set up, stock, and organize the bar before each shift; ensure cleanliness and organization throughout service. Process payments accurately through the POS system, following cash-control procedures. Monitor alcohol service responsibly, verifying identification and complying with BC liquor laws. Collaborate with management, servers, and barbacks to ensure smooth and efficient service flow. Uphold the brand culture by maintaining professionalism, teamwork, and pride in presentation.

Qualifications

Minimum 1-2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume or upscale casual setting. Serving It Right certification (required). Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, and beer (Italian wine knowledge an asset). Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude, team player, and professional demeanor. Physically able to stand for long periods and safely lift or move heavy items (kegs, cases, ice bins).
