Responsibilities

Preparing restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order Attending to customers upon entrance to the restaurant Presenting menus, serving and helping customers select food/beverages Take and serve orders Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/barstaff Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude Issue bills and accept payment Opening and closing the business as per standards, policies and procedures Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons Check customers' identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience Comply with all food and beverage regulations, particularly a familiarity with AGLC and AHS Career growth through leadership/management opportunities available; including but not limited to private functions, large scale community events, and floor supervision.

Requirements and Skills

Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience Private event experience is considered an asset Previous restaurant management experience is considered an asset Hands-on experience in cashier duties Attention to cleanliness and safety Patience and customer-oriented approach Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude Responsible and trustworthy Proserve is required!

In 2020, Big Fish & Open Range came to be after finding success in merging the restaurant menus and providing an exquisite surf and turf experience. Since then, the restaurant has grown to two locations in Calgary, Renfrew and Marda Loop. Both serve a weekday lunch and weekend brunch along with all day service. In addition, we feature a daily happy hour and weekly specials with BOGO Oysters on Mondays, 1/2-Price Wine on Wednesdays, Surf and Turf Date Night on Thursdays, and a Smoked Prime Rib Supper on Sundays.
