WHAT WILL OUR BARTENDER DO?
The Bartender is responsible for selling, creating and serving, and ensuring proper service of all alcoholic and most non-alcoholic beverage items. The Bartender usually serves the dual role of serving the dining room and lounge staff, as well as any guests who may be seated at the bar. To be successful in this role, you have thorough knowledge and demonstrated competence in the following areas:
Beverage knowledge including being able to explain the layout, contents and general theme of all wine and beverage menus
Food knowledge including understanding the general theme and content of all food menus and being able to offer alternatives as needed or requested.
Technical knowledge including preparing mixed drinks, retrieving product and wine from the restaurant storage system, maintaining and managing inventory, understanding the POS system and cash handling
Technical knowledge including the ability to navigate and operate the Squirrel POS system, handheld payment system, and cash handling
Adhering to restaurant policy and procedures
