Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position requires a passion for the food industry and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly manner. Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling. Prepare and serve food and beverages, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Assist with food preparation tasks, including cooking, assembling orders, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Handle cash transactions accurately while performing basic math calculations for change. Maintain cleanliness of the cafe, including dining areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils. Follow all food handling guidelines to ensure safety and quality of products served. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Experience

Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, particularly in roles involving customer service or food preparation. Barista experience is a plus, with familiarity in preparing various coffee beverages. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Knowledge of food safety practices is essential for maintaining a safe working environment.
