Job Title: Gaming Cafe Barista

Sankofa Cafe is a small, independently owned cafe and gaming venue in Cole Harbour, focusing on high quality pastry, lunch, and coffee. We're seeking a friendly and energetic Barista to join our team at a dynamic gaming cafe where great coffee meets gaming culture. In this role, you'll craft high-quality beverages, engage with customers who share a passion for gaming, and help maintain an inviting atmosphere for both casual visitors and regular players. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve a range of simple lunch items and hot and cold drinks, including specialty coffee and themed beverages Provide excellent customer service to gamers, spectators, and casual cafe guests Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe and gaming lounge areas Support basic tech setup and upkeep of gaming stations (training provided) Stay informed about gaming events, tournaments, and promotions in the cafe Operating cash/POS systems and managing lineups efficiently Running food, clearing tables, and keeping the space clean and organized Washing dishes as needed

Requirements:

Previous barista or cafe experience preferred Food Safety Certified Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable in a gaming-centric environment Basic familiarity with gaming consoles, PCs, or esports is a plus Strong multitasking and communication skills Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
This is a part-time position with the potential for full-time hours. Weekends are required. Starting wage rate based on experience, in addition to tips.
