We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to oversee the operations of our bar and beer garden while ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This is a full-time on-site role for a Bar Manager at Parksville Curling Club. The Bar Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bar operation, including customer service, staff management, inventory control, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
The ideal candidate will possess a background with bar/restaurant experience and demonstrate leadership skills to effectively operate a bar and beer garden, supervise a small staff, manage inventory, and maintain high standards of service. This role is crucial in creating a vibrant atmosphere that enhances customer satisfaction while driving profitability.
Responsibilities

Manage daily bar operations, including inventory control and cash handling.
Preparing beverages and snacks for customers.
Develop innovative drink menus & themed specials.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, complying with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the guest experience.
Keep liquor licence current and ensure that staff comply with liquor regulations.
Skills
Proven experience in restaurant/bar (management experience a plus) or a similar role within the food service industry.
Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in financial transactions.
Experience cashing in and out, plus handling daily deposits and reporting.
Proficiency in Excel or other spreadsheet program.
Excellent leadership abilities.
Knowledge of food preparation processes and kitchen operations is advantageous.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with guests and staff alike.
Familiarity with bar equipment, drink recipes, and cocktail preparation techniques.
Serving It Right certification.
Food Safety certification is considered an advantage.
