Job Overview
Provide prompt and courteous food and beverage service to guests during banquet and catering functions, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities
Serve menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner according to the banquet event order; time the service of courses to match the guests' dining pace.
Perform pre- and post-shift side work, including setup and preparation of condiments and equipment.
Clear tables after service; remove trays of dishes, silverware, and glassware to the kitchen for cleaning.
Respond to guest inquiries and special requests promptly and professionally; notify a supervisor of guest complaints or unusual situations.
Clear rooms at the end of banquets, return all props and centerpieces to storage, and properly store reusable goods.
Assist with setup and breakdown of function spaces, and plating of meals as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned, following all company and Marriott brand standards.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience:
Basic reading and writing skills required.
Food service experience with general knowledge of banquet operations preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Handle, carry, or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds (tables, chairs, trays, etc.).
Remain stationary for extended periods.
Move about function areas.
Bend, stoop, and kneel as required.
Other Requirements:
Strong communication skills when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food handler card as required by local regulations.
Reading and writing abilities used for orders and paperwork.
Basic math skills used frequently.
