Banquet Captain

Job Description
The Food and Beverage department is looking for an energetic individual to assist in overseeing the Clubs banquet events. The individual will be required to work closely with the entire Food and Beverage team, in particular the Banquet Manager, to ensure the smooth running of these events. The position will be part of the union team as regular serving duties will be required during slow periods. The individual will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Closing off functions at the end of the evening and ensuring all the billing is complete and accurate
- Motivating and training staff.
- Making key decisions to ensure the event runs smooth and is a success
- Ensure that all staff are informed of the events specifics and that the staff are adhering to the Clubs serving standards
- Being the key contact for the convener during the functions.
- Filling in for the Banquet Manager when they are absent.
- Ensure server cash outs are correct
- Locking and securing the building
- Other Duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years experience Serving
- Open availability including evenings and weekends
- Bartending experience would be asset
- A proven ability to present accurate verbal and written instructions
