Job Description

Job Function: The School Services Administrator performs a range of deposit services to schools including processing a high volume of deposits; responds to a high volume of member's requests for account updates and resolves routine problems with member accounts. Balances deposits and reports discrepancies; and prepares journal entries and balances ledgers. Half time will be processing deposits, counting bills and coin, balancing cash at the end of the day, preparing deposit for the bank.Key Responsibility AreasA. Member Service

  • Builds relationships with schools and responds to a high volume of telephone and e-mail queries in a timely manner
  • Processes member transactions, stop payments, transfers, online access, account updates and other teller duties as required.
  • Prepares bank drafts, foreign currency drafts and processes wire payments when necessary as support to administrators
B. School service deposit administration
  • Verifies school cheque deposits and balances to deposit slips
  • Processes, scans and balances all school cheque deposits within defined timeframes
  • Prepares journal entries and ensure ledgers balance
  • Reviews deposits for discrepancies and prepares discrepancy reports
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of School Services policies and procedures
C. Other
  • Required to work in Counting Room as School Program Clerk on a rotational schedule
  • Adheres to security procedures in a secure environment as they pertain to the position.
  • Actively participates in department and credit union meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation and experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years customer service, administration, or operations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; cash handling experience is an asset
  • A commitment to learning and development is required
