Job Summary
We are seeking a hands on, energetic and detail-oriented Bakery Manager to lead our bakery team with passion and precision. In this role, you will craft bread and pastries and oversee daily bakery operations, ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality, manage staff training and development, and uphold our commitment to exceptional customer service. Your leadership will inspire a team dedicated to producing authentic, organic baked goods while maintaining efficient kitchen and inventory management.
Duties
Plan the business and set the schedule
Expertly handcraft bread and pastries by hand , from scratch
Ensure the baking Team is engaged, trained and have the tools and resources required to execute the plan
Ensure the Front End Team is trained and exceeding customer expectations
Order (or delegate) ingredients and stock required so as not to run out, but not overstock (control inventory)
Implement ideas to improve the business performance
Control process variations, troubleshoot quality issues on an on going basis
Deliver financial results set out in the budget
Ensure a safe work environment and ensure all equipment is maintained and working properly
Support kitchen management by supervising food handling procedures, culinary techniques, and ensuring consistency in product quality
Manage all business systems
Skills
Extensive experience (5+ Years) in hand crafted bread baking from organic ingredients . (Red Seal Baking Certificate or equivalent
Extensive experience (5+ Years) in hand crafted pastry production such as croissants (Red Seal Baking Certificate or equivalent
Food preparation, cooking, and bakery operations within a fast-paced environment
Proven management skills with a background in supervising team and managing production
Expertise in inventory control, budgeting, and food management practices
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to train staff on hospitality standards
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for bakery management
Leadership qualities that foster team development through interviewing, training & development initiatives
