Bakery Manager

Job duties:

Operational Management, including:

Plan, organize, and oversee all daily operations of the bakery, including production, sales, front-of-house, and back-of-house activities Ensure efficient and smooth workflow across all departments to maintain high productivity, product quality, and customer satisfaction Monitor the proper functioning of all machinery, equipment, and production tools; coordinate repairs, maintenance, and service when required Identify operational issues and implement solutions to prevent disruptions and maintain consistent performance
Staff Management & Leadership, including:

Conduct job interviews, select and hire new staff, and manage onboarding and training processes Create and manage staff schedules, adjusting coverage based on demand, production needs, and employee availability Train, coach, and support employees on quality standards, hygiene regulations, safety procedures, and work processes Serve as the primary point of contact for staff concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace issues Monitor employee performance and provide feedback, guidance, and corrective actions when necessary
Product & Quality Management, including:

Develop, adjust, and maintain recipes, including cost calculations, portion control, and quality optimization Ensure all bakery products meet established quality standards in taste, appearance, and consistency Oversee compliance with food-safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace-safety regulations in all areas of the bakery Perform regular quality checks on production processes, ingredients, storage conditions, and finished products
Inventory, Ordering & Resource Management, including:

Plan, coordinate, and process all orders for ingredients, packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and other operational resources Conduct inventory checks, maintain accurate stock levels, and ensure timely replenishment of essential items Compare suppliers, review pricing, assess product quality, and collaborate with vendors to optimize costs and maintain reliable supply Manage operational resources including staff, materials, equipment, and time to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal waste
Menu, Product Assortment & Sales Decisions, including:

Analyze product sales, customer trends, and profitability to decide which items remain in the assortment, which are discontinued, and which new products should be introduced Plan and organize product assortment, including pricing, seasonal items, production quantities, and overall product strategy Ensure all products are available on time, produced in adequate quantities, and meet quality expectations
Customer Experience & Front-of-House Oversight, including:

Ensure the front-of-house area is clean, well-organized, professional, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards Oversee customer service operations and assist with handling special situations, requests, or complaints Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through quality control, efficient service, and continuous improvement
Job details:

Skills/education requirements:

successful completion of high school completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management several years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required preferred: several years of experience as a baker, including experience as a bakery manager a flexible attitude towards working hours, including Saturday, Sunday, evenings and nights, is expected ability to work under minimal supervision capacity to work NOT under the influence of alcohol, pharmaceutical and or narcotic substances which would impair your ability to work safely in possession of Food Safe Certificate. If you are not in possession of this certificate, you are required to successfully complete this course prior to commencing working for us
