Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. As a Bakery Clerk, you will assist customers with their selections, ensure the freshness of our bakery products, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Your role will be vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while promoting our delicious offerings.

Duties

Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their bakery selections. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately. Maintain knowledge of bakery products, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist customers effectively. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations during food handling and preparation. Assist in food preparation tasks, including baking, decorating, and packaging baked goods as needed. Keep the bakery area clean, organized, and well-stocked with products while monitoring inventory levels. Upsell bakery items by suggesting complementary products to enhance customer purchases. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or food handling environment is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Familiarity with food safety practices and procedures is essential. Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. A keen interest in the food industry and willingness to learn about various bakery products. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
