At To Live For, we pride ourselves on creating exceptional plant-based pastries and desserts. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled baker to join our talented pastry team. Preference given to pastry chefs with experience with dough lamination and croissants. This new team member must be available to work weekends.
Specific Tasks Include:
Laminating dough and shaping croissants.
Mixing and shaping bread.
Preparing and baking a variety of bars, tarts and sheet cakes.
Scaling ingredients; preparing fillings, creams, garnishes, sauces etc.
Operating large bakery equipment for mixing, proofing, baking.
Finishing a variety of pastry and feature items including mousse cake slices, croissants and other viennoiserie in a uniform and detail-oriented manner.
Other Key Responsibilities:
Utilize your professional pastry training to elevate our offerings and continuously offer a wide variety of impressive options.
Bring 2+ years of bakery experience to our team, showcasing your expertise in croissants, bread, and a wide variety of pastries and desserts.
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, effectively conveying information to team members
Possess strong leadership skills to help support training and demonstrate efficient production set up and workflow to junior staff
Qualifications:
Professional pastry experience from a bakery or commercial establishment.
Over two years of experience in a bakery setting, with a focus on croissants and a variety of pastries and desserts.
Legally authorized to work in Canada.

We are a fifteen-year-old bakery on a mission to prove that the future of baking is plant-based. Our goal is to replace the factory farm-filled baked goods on cafe and grocery store shelves around BC. Our bakery and cafe is located on Nanaimo & Grant St in East Vancouver. We serve retail customers in our cafe, as well as, wholesale customers (cafes and shops) around the Lower Mainland.
