Looking for a team player who has skills in a commercial kitchen and the patience to share them. The day-to-day job involves the line/baker role and has the opportunity to grow into a a leadership position as the successful candidate learns ins & outs of the restaurant.
We encourage learning, growth and exploring of culinary skills within alignment of the cafe food philosophy and offerings. Candidates must be team players able to work independently in a commercial kitchen. The job requires regular cleaning, sanitization & proper waste management. Communication and social skills are important to become a successful candidate.
Note: We work with all foods including meat, dairy, gluten, nuts and other common allergens.
This position is for an experienced candidate willing to grow with the Company.
Job Requirements
Valid Food Safety Certification
Able to lift up to 30 lbs
Able to work standing during long periods

General BoH Duties & Responsibilities
Food preparation in a high pace environment in accordance with recipes, menu and standards laid out in training
Washing dishes in accordance with processes laid on the premise and food safety training
Adhere to portion sizes and processes used in the kitchen
Hold a very high standard of cleanliness and care with all kitchen food preparation
Ensure adherence to restaurant health & safety standards and sanitation regulations under KFL&A public health
Monitor product freshness and rotate out old products based on a schedule provided by the cafe
Apply best efforts in reducing waste, reusing, & recycling when applicable
Ensure kitchen equipment and storage areas are kept clean and regularly maintained within your area of responsibility
Advise manager/owner of any discrepancies or safety issues in your work environment so they are addressed in a timely manner
Ensure inventory and stock up areas are kept clean and organized with proper levels
Use your initiative as you see fit, contributing to the team environment and helping your co-workers within your area of responsibilities
At the end of each shift, ensure work environment is left clean, stocked up with proper inventory levels
Embrace and follow the company's inventory management plan
When receiving goods from suppliers, ensure items received match the invoice & file invoice for record keeping
Use your initiative guided by the three pillars ensuring safety is always priority, contributing to the team environment and helping your co-workers within your area of responsibilities
Address issues with your coworkers and management promptly, honestly and respectfully, escalating matters as needed
Hold a positive attitude in the workplace embracing the learning environment
Other duties that are reasonably aligned with BoH roles communicated to you by management/owner
Selection Criteria
Candidates comfortable working with food and kitchen equipment with experience will be preferred.
