Job Summary

The Red Door is seeking their next Baker superstar to take on the daily operations of the bakery side of our cafe.

Baking experience is essential; gluten-free baking experience is a bonus but not required--your troubleshooting, problem-solving, and baking science knowledge are key.

Creativity and fresh ideas are highly welcomed!

Part-time schedule: 3-4 days a week (mostly weekdays) - schedule is flexible, generally no weekends - but some on occasion. If you thrive in an independent role and love baking, apply now!

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and breads. Manage a baking schedule that includes special orders, event and holiday baking. Ensure all food handling and safety practices are followed in accordance with health regulations. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their selections and addressing any inquiries. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area to ensure an efficient workflow. Package baked goods attractively for display and sale. Ensuring desserts are uniform and properly displayed/stored. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards. Spearhead inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies. Bring a creative spark to the table to help us continue to offer some of the best local gluten free desserts.

Experience

Baking experience in a commercial kitchen is REQUIRED Gluten Free Baking experience is preferred Strong skills in baking techniques are essential. Decorating/presentation Familiarity with food preparation methods and kitchen equipment is required. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is necessary. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Knowledge of the science of baking and troubleshooting recipes.

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
