Ecco Recycling & Energy Corp. is a dedicated Chip plant serving the Aldersyde area. We are committed to sustainable waste management and environmental responsibility, providing vital services to our community. Aldersyde is the location for colouring and bagging mulch in Alberta. The new facility includes the addition of two new buildings to each end of the existing structure. Each new building is 4,800 square feet, added to the square footage of the existing structure, for a grand total of 15,200 square feet. The new building will feature two bagging lines, one moving from the existing facility in Calgary, capable of producing up to 6,000 bags of mulch per day. The second, is an all-new bagging line featuring a Sahara X1 Colorizer, Hamer Automated Bagging Line and a Fully Automated High-Level Palletizer, capable of producing up to 12,000 bags per day with half the staff. All our ECCO Chips staff are moving to the new location and operating two bagging lines is sure to keep them busy! The combined production total of both bagging lines is 18,000, bags of wood mulch per day, the equivalent of 180 metric tonnes of recycled wood each day! Good thing the new site can store up to 20,000 skids of finished product. The dye used in the process is 100% organic, only using vegetable and minerals to create our vibrant ECCO Chips colours,

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Bagger Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate specialized equipment such as the Sahara X1 Colorizer, Hamer Automated Bagging Line and a Fully Automated High-Level Palletizer to efficiently move and manage materials within our chip operations. Your expertise will help ensure smooth workflows, uphold safety standards, and support our commitment to environmentally responsible practices.

Duties

Operate bagger machinery to load, unload, and transport materials across the site with precision and safety. Conduct quality inspections on materials to ensure compliance with company standards. Assist with materials handling tasks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Support manufacturing processes by managing material flow and ensuring timely delivery of supplies. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to maintain optimal operation. Collaborate with team members to coordinate efficient material movement and site organization. Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations and report any hazards or incidents immediately.

Experience

Previous experience operating heavy machinery such as baggers, and forklift, or similar equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and materials handling techniques. Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and efficient workflow practices. Experience with packaging, machining, or screen printing is a plus but not required. Strong understanding of safety standards in industrial settings, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Warehouse experience including forklift certification, pallet jack operation, and materials management is highly desirable.
