Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of cargo. This role requires a strong focus on safety, operational efficiency, and adherence to transportation regulations. Candidates with experience in heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will be highly valued.

Job Requirements

Valid AZ Canadian driver's license A clean CVOR abstract Proven Canadian experience (minimum 3 years ) in commercial driving, particularly agricultural equipment Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness, and safety Must be available for other tasks as needed - such as assisting in our repair shop - labour and mechanical tasks Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities Ideal candidate would live in close proximity (within an 1hr) to our shop Must be available to be away from home for up to 7 days at a time, and must be available for work on occasional weekends

Job Responsibilities

Operate trucks to transport goods over various distances (Ontario, Eastern and Western Canada), ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition Load and unload freight, utilizing forklifts as necessary, while ensuring proper handling techniques to prevent damage Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery schedules, routes, and any potential issues on the road
We do offer extended health benefits to employees after the successful completion of the 3 month probationary period.

Compensation: hourly rate applies when working at our repair shop. For all trips both short and long haul, driver will be compensated per mile. Rate will be dependent on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 50 per week
