As the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Solution Architecture, you will lead and act as a changemaker in reshaping the future of our solution architecture; guiding an evolution of technology and solutions across Individual Life, Group Benefits, Wealth Management and Creditor lines of business. The AVP, Solution Architecture strategically steers the technical team\xe2\x80\x99s efforts, ensuring our technology solutions are built with the best industry practices, the integration of enterprise standards and corporate strategy, and alignment to our business strategy and objectives.

How you will create impact:

  • Leading, evolving, and refining the Solution Architecture practice to effectively optimize, stabilize, govern, and leverage reusability in technology solution delivery for enterprise applications.
  • Overseeing the analysis of our current application portfolio, researching and analyzing of industry and market trend impacts/options, and creating the solution architecture and feasibility assessment for technology implementation.
  • Collaborating and providing senior-level guidance as a member of an extended architecture leadership team; ensuring alignment, integration, harmony of governance, best practices, cost efficiencies, and clear communication of the realities and implications for enterprise applications.
  • Consulting as a trusted advisor and partner to senior technical and business leaders across the organization to guide and influence alignment/actions to architecture and standards.
  • Elevating the integration of business value into solution architecture practices and designs.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the strategic roadmap and forward vision for technology stacks and solutions that will enable our business strategy.
  • Leading and engaging your team of technology professionals to deliver on strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing emerging talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, and agile culture.

  • You develop others to ensure the evolving needs of the organization will be met and build effective relationships to achieve key business objectives.

To join our team:

  • You have 10 years of progressive IT experience, including 5 years of practice in IT architecture and/or solutions design.
  • You have a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or another field of relevant study.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of industry-standard technical platforms and solutions including Microsoft technologies (ex. Azure).
  • You have a broad understanding of solution design practices, technology practices, technology trends, and enterprise-scale architecture; and an ability to apply business acumen to estimate the financial impact of solutions and solution alternatives.
  • You have expertise in multiple disciplines related to solution delivery of complex applications, such as technical architecture, application architecture, system integration, and development methodologies.
  • You are an experienced people leader, well-skilled in leading teams to solve complex problems and operate innovatively in an engaged collaborative environment.
