Position Summary:


Stevens Custom Coatings is seeking a talented and detail-oriented

Equipment Refinish Technician

to join our team. This role is crucial to ensuring the highest level of quality in restoring and refinishing Equipment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in surface preparation prior to paint.

We are open to highly motivated candidates that are new to the industrial equipment refinishing Industry and are willing to learn!

Key Responsibilities:



Body Repair and Restoration



Evaluate vehicle damage or required modifications, developing a clear plan for repair or fabrication. Perform metalworking tasks, including shaping, grinding, welding, and filling to restore or improve vehicle surfaces. Replace damaged panels and components using proper removal and installation techniques. Execute frame and structural repairs, including straightening or strengthening structures. Apply Body Fillers, Primer's, and with use of hand tools return surfaces to like new condition.

Fabrication and Welding



Perform custom metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, and fitting metal components to meet specifications. Apply advanced welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding, to repair, reinforce, or modify automotive components. Create and install custom parts for unique projects, ensuring precision and durability.

Paperwork and Procedures



Complete detailed and accurate documentation for all projects, including: Repair orders (ROs) with step-by-step breakdowns of tasks performed. Materials used, including types and quantities of metal, welding supplies, and tools. Time tracking for each stage of the project. Follow company procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers about project timelines and requirements.

Cleanliness and Organization



Maintain a clean and safe work environment by regularly cleaning tools, workspaces, and equipment. Follow strict housekeeping protocols, including the daily organization of materials, tools, and supplies. Ensure proper disposal and handling of waste materials, including scrap metal and hazardous substances, adhering to environmental and workplace safety standards. Perform scheduled maintenance on tools and equipment to prolong usability and ensure safe operation.

Quality Assurance



Conduct thorough inspections of all completed repairs and modifications to ensure structural integrity and high-quality craftsmanship. Test-fit fabricated or repaired components to ensure proper alignment and functionality. Address any defects or discrepancies promptly to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Paint Preparation/Masking



Review surfaces to be painted with painter prior to it entering the paint booth. Apply masking materials with extreme accuracy.

Experience and Technical Skills



Prior Paint prep, automotive/industrial paint application or metal fabrication exprience. Note - Highly Motivated Individuals looking to learn in a fast pace hands on environment are encouraged to apply! Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques with a strong focus on precision. Expertise in automotive structural repairs, including panel replacement and frame straightening. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or specifications as needed.

Physical and Technical Requirements



Physical capability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and perform repetitive motions. Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality work. Familiarity with operating grinders, sanders, plasma cutters, painting equipment, metal shears, and other fabrication tools.

Organizational Skills



Strong commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Detail-oriented approach to documentation and adherence to procedural standards.

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
