Are you an experienced and skilled technician passionate about gate automation technology? Lynx Brand Fence Products, a leader in the fence and automated gate industry, is seeking a dedicated Automation Technician to join our growing team in Calgary. This role is essential for maintaining our high standards of service and customer satisfaction, encompassing the full lifecycle of gate automation systems from estimation through to installation and ongoing service.

Key Responsibilities

Installation:

Perform the installation of a variety of automated gate systems, including slide, swing, and barrier operators, along with all associated access control equipment (e.g., keypads, card readers, loop detectors).

Repair & Maintenance:

Diagnose, repair, and service all types of residential and commercial gate automation systems and access control accessories.

Troubleshooting:

Systematically troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage issues to ensure the correct and reliable function of gate operators.

Estimating & Consultation:

Conduct on-site inspections for new installations and repair jobs to accurately assess client needs, prepare detailed estimates, and provide expert technical consultation to customers and the sales team.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and time spent for all service and installation jobs.

Safety:

Adhere to all company safety policies, industry standards, and local codes to ensure safe and compliant installations and repairs.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Automation Technician or similar role (e.g., Field Service Technician, Electrician). Certification as a

Certified Gate Automation Technician (CGAT)

or a related certificate (e.g.,

Certified Electronics Tech (C.E.T.)

) is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of automated gate systems, components, and access control devices. Proficiency in electrical wiring, diagnostics, and mechanical repair. Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
