Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in automotive environments, ensuring compliance with safety standards and electrical codes. This role requires a strong understanding of low and high voltage systems, schematics, and blueprint reading, with experience working on construction sites and renovation projects. The Automotive Electrician will play a critical role in supporting vehicle electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing upgrades to ensure optimal performance. Computer programming is a bonus.

Duties

Install, troubleshoot, and repair automotive electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment such as ohmmeters. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately perform wiring and system modifications. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support vehicle automation features. Ensure all work complies with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety regulations. Perform maintenance on high voltage and low voltage electrical components within automotive systems. Assist in renovation and construction projects related to automotive facilities or workshops. Utilize construction site experience to ensure safe practices during installation and repair activities. Collaborate with team members on schematic diagrams and framing carpentry tasks when necessary. Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each project or repair task.

Skills

Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a focus on automotive applications. Strong knowledge of NEC standards, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low/high voltage systems. Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately. Construction site experience including renovation projects is preferred. Familiarity with framing carpentry or maintenance person skills is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose electrical issues efficiently. Strong safety awareness and adherence to OSHA guidelines during all phases of work.
