Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Auto Body Prepper to join our automotive restoration and repair team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, repair, and finishing processes, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role requires a strong understanding of auto body work, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience and mechanic skills are a plus, but a passion for auto restoration and customer service are essential components of success in this position.

Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion Use hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment for surface preparation and finishing Perform buffing, detailing, and minor repairs to ensure vehicles meet quality standards Assist with auto glass installation and repair as needed Maintain cleanliness of work area and proper storage of tools and materials Support auto body repair processes including welding, vehicle maintenance, and auto painting when required Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects Follow safety protocols related to heavy lifting, use of chemicals, and operation of equipment

Qualifications

Dealership experience or background in auto body repair highly preferred Knowledge of welding, auto painting, buffing, and detailing techniques Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and auto restoration processes Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment Experience with auto glass installation or repair is a plus Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Auto estimating experience is advantageous but not required Prior experience in auto restoration or mechanic work is beneficial Attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship Valid driver's license
