AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
As part of the Performing Arts team, this position supports audience development, group sales, and community outreach initiatives by actively engaging with the public at events, festivals, and community spaces. The role focuses on promoting the City of Bramptons performing arts activities, building meaningful relationships, and encouraging participation. This position is an excellent opportunity for a student passionate about arts, marketing, and community engagement to gain valuable experience in audience development and outreach while contributing to Bramptons vibrant cultural scene.

  • Represent the City of Bramptons Performing Arts Division at community events, festivals, and other public spaces.
  • Actively engage with community members to promote upcoming events, performances, and programs.
  • Distribute promotional materials, such as flyers, brochures, and posters.
  • Set up and manage information booths, ensuring materials are displayed effectively.
  • Build positive relationships with local organizations, businesses, and event attendees to foster community connections.
  • Provide information about performing arts programs and encourage participation through ticket sales.
  • Support the planning, setup, and execution of outreach programs and engagement activities.
  • Maintain awareness of current and upcoming events to provide accurate information.
  • Record observations and provide feedback on outreach efforts and public engagement.
  • Adhere to corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to customer service and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Experience with or interest in events, promotions, sales or community outreach.
  • Ability to work in dynamic environments and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms; photography or videography skills are an asset.
  • Multi-lingual capability is an asset.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends based on event schedules.
  • Ability to travel to various event locations within the area, which could extend beyond Brampton.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR-C/AED certification from an accredited organization.
  • Completion of a Level 1 Criminal Record Check.
**Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton.
