About the Position:





Hazelview is seeking an Associate to join our Multi Family Real Estate Investment Management team. We actively invest in all commercial real estate asset classes globally with a strong focus on Canada and the United States. The Associate will provide an array of support to the team and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. They are a passionate self-starter and eager for an experience in the Real Estate Industry.


Key Responsibilities:




Work with the Real Estate Investment Management team to assess the acquisition of real estate assets across North America, including extensive property valuations, investment committee submissions, and in-depth research on various markets and asset classes. Assist in the due diligence process during property acquisition and provide continued support of monitoring the performance of direct real estate investments Support the ongoing asset management reporting requirements, including annual budgeting, and period reporting requirements Conduct on-site property level due diligence both during initial acquisition and continued support, as needed Maintain detailed market research on fundamentals relevant in all commercial real estate asset classes Assist senior management in various assignments as necessary

Job Requirements:




Education and Experience:




Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce or Real Estate program 1+ years of Real Estate experience from one of the following environments: Investment Banking, Real Estate Finance, Private Equity, Private Debt, Fund Management, or a major lending Institution. Must have exceptional computer and financial modelling skills Working towards the CFA considered an asset Experience with Argus is considered an asset

Qualifications:




Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint A professional demeanor coupled with strong communication skills both written and verbal A demonstrated high degree of integrity, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations. Ability to remain calm and focused in high pressure situations A self-motivated individual who is proactive, takes initiative, is goal and results oriented, and who works independently without a lot of direction Superior organizational and time management skills in order to multi-task/prioritize and work under tight timelines and meet multiple deadlines Flexible with a "can-do" and "no task is too big or too small" attitude Excellent problem-solving capabilities Superior attention to detail and accuracy and excellent follow-up skills
