About the Role:

The Associate Publicist\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities include media and influencer relations, handling media inquiries, and writing communications materials for Nelvana, Corus Entertainment\xe2\x80\x99s world-leading international producer, distributor and licensor of children\xe2\x80\x99s animated and live action content, and streaming portfolio, including STACKTV and TELETOON+. Some administrative duties will also be required.

You will contribute by:

  • Assist with daily media monitoring for Nelvana, STACKTV and TELETOON+, along with managing strategic campaign reporting
  • Generate and maximize earned PR for Nelvana and streaming platforms through media pitching, coordinating media interviews, events, and developing and executing creative influencer programs
  • Draft and distribute communications materials for external and internal audiences, including press releases, programming highlights, key messages, press kits, and more
  • Foster relationships with content and distribution partners, spokespeople, and unit publicists in order to ensure effective execution of publicity strategy
  • Cultivate strong relationships with media outlets, journalists and social media influencers to ensure efficient communication and maximum coverage
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure innovative and fully-integrated campaigns
  • Update and maintain media and influencer contacts list
  • Coordinate, compile and courier media and influencer packages as required
  • Provide publicity support for other business priorities as required
  • Assist in special projects as they pertain to overall departmental initiatives
Skills and Experience you will bring:
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in the arts, public relations or communications
  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience in entertainment, broadcast or public relations fields
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Flexible to change, new challenges and demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, strong organization skills, diplomacy and detail orientation
  • Interest in and knowledge of Canadian entertainment industry trends and developments
  • Strong computer skills: MS Word, MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Keen interest and understanding of social media platforms and social creators
