Associate Promotion Manager
Closing Date: December 15, 2023
The UMC team works four days a week from our creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto and one day to work virtually.
Reporting to the Director, Promotion, the Associate Promotion Manager is responsible for:\xe2\x80\x8b
Maximize exposure for all Universal Music Group artist files
Secure & track airplay, promotions and social media exposure at radio for our artists & have an excellent knowledge of the radio landscape
Set up advance, day of show and virtual interviews with media for touring and non-touring artists
Coordinate & oversee on-site events at concerts, in-store events, etc.
Seek alternative means of promoting our artists & labels, including third party opportunities
Booking, creating, & monitoring radio advertising
Support the National Promotion Coordinator to set up new releases and music servicing, chart reporting and other administration work as required
Partner with the live music scene and the club culture/DJs
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A positive attitude and team player with ability to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2-5 years of experience in the music and/or radio industry
Post-secondary degree or diploma in radio, media and/or entertainment related fields
Strong coordination and organizational skills
Knowledge of radio promotion in the music industry, industry data & tracking programs and platforms (Mediabase, DSPs, PlayMPE, DMDS, etc.)
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to drive results is a must
Passion for and knowledge of a wide variety of music genres is a must.
Excellent computer skills with a strong background in the Microsoft Office Suite and excellent writing, spelling and typing skills
Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, responding to issues promptly with a strong orientation toward customer service and teamwork
Strong organizational and time management skills, including prioritization and follow through
Detail oriented/Strong ability to multi-task with and have a sense of urgency/willingness to work quickly and efficiently
Able to comfortably converse with all types of people from both within and outside the company
Self-starter, good relationship building skills, proactive approach to work, constantly seeking improvement in all areas
Available for travel as required
