Position: Associate Producer - W5, Bell Media


Location: Toronto \xe2\x80\x93 Agincourt
Hours of Work: Variable

Responsibilities:


  • Propose stories and prepare research for W5
  • Assist with shooting of items
  • Work with producers and reporters
  • Fact check stories
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • Experience researching long form current affairs programs, documentaries
  • Experience or chase-producing
  • Experience in news writing, reporting and editing for TV news
  • Experience generating story ideas
  • Excellent fact-checking skills
  • Experience creating social media content, with accompanying knowledge of social media best practices
  • Ability to develop a story from concept to shooting stage
  • Excellent knowledge of news and current affairs
  • Experience in investigative journalism
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to both work well in a team and be self-motivated
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with spread sheets and database organization of research material, while not specifically required, is considered an asset
  • French or other language skills
  • Broadcast or Journalism degree are definite assets
  • Knowledge of court system processes considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 years journalism experience
