JOB OVERVIEW
The Logistics Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing shipping and logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products. You will work closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to manage the flow of goods and optimize supply chain processes.
Responsibilities:Shipping Coordination: Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, track shipments, and update inventory management systems to ensure accurate records.
Carrier Liaison: Communicate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring adherence to timelines and service requirements.
Logistics Support: Coordinate logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of shipping and logistics activities, including tracking shipments and resolving discrepancies.
Problem Resolution: Address shipping issues and delays promptly, working with carriers and suppliers to resolve problems effectively.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards, including hazardous materials handling when applicable. Make HTS and ECCN determinations as needed.
Reporting: Generate and analyze reports related to shipping and logistics performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Qualifications:3-5 years of experience in logistics, shipping, import/export, or supply chain management.
Demonstrate understanding of Canadian & US Export Control Regulations.
Knowledge of international logistics, and freight forwarding requirements, INCOTERMS, arranging and booking shipments with airlines, FTL/LTL service providers.
Trained and familiar with WHMIS, Dangerous Goods Regulations (Transport Canada-Clear TDG regulations, IATA, IMDG) and requirements and certifications in handling Dangerous/Hazardous goods
Ability to multi-task and manage timelines
Strong communication skills - written and verbal (English & French)
Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
