Associate Legal Counsel

The Associate Legal Counsel provides legal advice and services that proactively support Day & Ross Inc.'s business strategy and operations.





How You'll Help:


Research and provide legal advice and opinion in all areas of business law, particularly: litigation, employment, contractual, corporate taxes, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structure issues, government reporting and general corporate commercial law. Stay on top of legal developments, recognizing how and when they could affect business and proactively bringing such matters to the attention of appropriate senior officials. Research, prepare and edit required legal documentation to support business transactions. Engage and manage external counsel to support larger, more complex files or as required. Other related duties and/or responsibilities as required.




Your Skills & Experience:


J.D./ LL.B and admission to the bar in a Canadian jurisdiction. Additional training and courses in corporate law an asset. 3-5 years experience practicing law; corporate or commercial experience preferred. A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered. Strong conflict resolution skills. Ability to work independently. Excellent oral and exceptional written communication skills. Attention to detail with ability to prepare and proofread legal documents. Motivated, self-starter. Ability to work productively under pressure. Superior organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize. Conceptual and creative problem-solving skills for a business environment. French language skills considered a strong asset.
