About the Role
Addo Law PC is growing and seeking an Associate Lawyer who is eager to take on meaningful work in a fast-paced, collegial environment. The Associate Lawyer will assist in various legal matters, which entails providing research, drafting pleadings and carriage of small claims matters etc. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development within the legal field.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct client intake meetings and maintain regular communication
Keep clients apprised of the progress of their matters
Draft pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, and other legal documents
Correspond with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
Prepare draft materials and/or all materials required for discoveries and/or court hearings
Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations, advocating for their best interests
Manage own caseload from start to finish
Collaborate with senior lawyers on case management and strategy discussions, providing insights based on research findings
Manage case files efficiently and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines
Provide legal advice across a range of issues.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO)
Minimum of 2 years of legal experience
Fluent in English (required)
Strong legal research skills; proficiency with tools such as Lexis-Nexis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail in legal drafting
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
A proactive attitude towards learning and developing new skills within the legal field
Ability to work independently and with team members in a professional environment.
Creative problem-solving approach in execution of tasks
