Mazi Law Professional Corporation (formerly Rooz Law) is a boutique Personal Injury law firm located in the heart of North York. We handle Accident Benefits, motor vehicle accident tort claims, as well as slip & fall or trip & fall claims. The firm is seeking an associate lawyer to join our growing practice. Qualifications
Minimum 1 year experience in personal injury;
Valid Lawyer (L1) Licence in good standing from the Law Society of Ontario;
Strong knowledge of Accident Benefits and Tort claims, including the SABS and the Rules of Civil Procedure*; Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask;
Strong interpersonal, communication, legal writing, legal research, and advocacy skills; and
Experience in negotiations, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Responsibilities
Proactive handling of personal injury matters from beginning to resolution;
Preparing various forms, case conference summaries, and pleadings for the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT);
Preparing pleadings, motions records, mediation memos, pre-trial memos, etc. ;
Conducting case conferences, examinations for discovery, motions, hearings, mediations, and more;
Effectively tracking denials, deadlines and timelines;
Corresponding with clients, opposing counsels, and third-parties; and
Other duties as may be assigned
