Fixed-Term Associate Lawyer (Maternity Leave Coverage - likely date estimate February - September 2026)

We are a busy, client-focused law firm located in Maple Ridge, seeking a capable and motivated

Associate Lawyer

to join our team on a

fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave

. This role is ideal for a lawyer who is ready to assume responsibility quickly, manage an active caseload, and contribute meaningfully to a supportive and collaborative practice.

While this is a fixed-term position, there is the possibility of a permanent role with the firm at the conclusion of the contract, depending on performance and business needs.

Who You Are

We are seeking a

BC-licensed lawyer (2-5 year call)

with experience or strong interest in one or more of the following practice areas:

Family Law Wills & Estates Civil Litigation
You are proactive, well-organized, and confident in managing files independently while maintaining excellent client service. You appreciate a balance of autonomy and mentorship and are ready to contribute to a busy practice for the duration of the maternity leave coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Manage your own files from commencement to resolution Attend court (in-person and virtual) for hearings, chambers applications, and trials Draft pleadings, correspondence, and legal memoranda Conduct legal research Meet with clients and opposing counsel Prepare and review litigation materials, including applications, discovery documents, and related filings

Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle Certificate of Standing (required)
