We are seeking a Term of Project Associate Editor who is excited to be part of a team that is committed to creating new, culturally relevant curriculum materials that engage today\xe2\x80\x99s students. The Associate Editor will use their educational background and curriculum knowledge in combination with on-the-job training in editorial processes and project management in the development of new and innovative instructional materials for Grades K\xe2\x80\x9312. The Associate Editor works collaboratively with the rest of the editorial team to execute assignments to meet the quality standards for the project.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist editorial team in all aspects of editing, including researching, and fact-checking, rewriting, copy-editing, and proofreading
  • Support editorial team with maintaining trackers, filing electronic and print records, and other administrative tasks
  • Adhere to deadlines and follow workflow processes
  • Learn and follow established procedures and company policies
  • Seek guidance or clarification from supervisor when objectives or directions are not clear
  • Show growth over time in response to supervisor\xe2\x80\x99s direction and coaching
  • Refer all decisions with budget or schedule implications to immediate supervisor for advice and action
  • Provide accurate status on all assignments
  • Participate in regular meetings and discussions
  • Keep abreast of curriculum changes and trends in educational publishing
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably with specialization in English, History/Politics, Languages
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including good grasp of language conventions
  • Detail-oriented, but with an understanding of overall project objectives and goals
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, set priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks on time with the required level of quality
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and G-Suite
  • Ability to implement constructive feedback to refine skills

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical to successful performance in this role.
