Job Summary
Queen's Health Sciences (QHS), in partnership with the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is co-developing a program for training health professionals living along the western James Bay coast. The Queen's-Weeneebayko Health Education Program marks a new approach to educating and supporting Indigenous youth to pursue careers in healthcare and provides a unique model for transforming Indigenous health across Canada. Through this partnership, QHS and WAHA will co-create decolonized, interprofessional curricula for medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and paramedicine.
Reporting to the Director, Queen's - Weeneebayko Health Education Program, the Associate Director, Indigenous Curriculum Development is responsible for leading and coordinating curriculum development for the proposed Queen's-Weeneebayko Health Education Campus. The Associated Director, Indigenous Curriculum Development will work with all three Schools in QHS, as well as other external partners, identifying the curricular resources required to engage in the major modification of QHS curriculum that is needed for the proposed campus. This individual will lead the curriculum team in transforming curriculum into a decolonized, interprofessional program fit for delivery at the proposed campus.
