NVIT anticipates a need for up to two full-time Associate Deans; based on the Merritt campus. NVIT invites applications from qualified academic leaders for these exempt, ongoing positions. These positions will be expected over 2 \xe2\x80\x93 4 years to incorporate a transitioning career path which will eventually result in becoming a designated Dean. The successful candidates will commence as soon as they are available. Job Summary: Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean(s) is responsible for providing effective leadership and management in delivering and developing educational programs, and services, and possesses an understanding of establishing academic goals, priorities, policies, and procedures while ensuring the effective management of operational resources. The Associate Dean will be accountable for the processes of educational planning, academic policy implementation, instructional delivery, and evaluations. The Associate Dean position will be expected to teach during each academic year. Instructional assignments will be determined on a year-to-year basis. The Associate Dean\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities may include assisting in the development of several major educational projects. Acting as a liaison, the successful applicant will work with communities and other educational institutions to develop and implement agreements and projects that will enhance NVIT\'s program offerings. The Associate Dean performs a broad range of activities requiring a high level of independence and sound judgment within a team context. The individual is committed to academic excellence and to advancing new programming opportunities, the quality and content of programs, courses, initiatives, and the student learning experience. The Associate Dean contributes to the culture within the administration and the faculty which provides students with a high-quality education and high-quality services so that the student experience at NVIT is a positive one. Program responsibility will be determined through the candidate\xe2\x80\x99s relative experience in the field of study as well as established education in the related field. The successful applicant will be an experienced educational administrator with outstanding human relations, team-building skills, and organizational skills, with demonstrated Indigenous knowledge and proven emphasis on student success. Program responsibility may include Environmental Natural Resource Technology (ENRT), College Readiness (CR), Business and Administration, and Community Public Safety (CAPS) programs available primarily on the Merritt campus. Indigenous Human Services (IHMS), Social Work, and Indigenous Early Childhood Education (IECE), University Transfer (UT), Criminology, Indigenous Holistic Wellness and Addictions (IHWA) programs available on both campuses.
