Applications are invited for the position of Associate Dean, School of Justice and Fitness in the Community Services, Justice, and Fitness Studies Division, located at the Welland Campus. The salary range is $125,153 to $156,441 for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.
Reporting to the Dean of Community Services, Justice and Fitness, the successful candidate works collaboratively with high performance academic, administrative, and support teams to lead in the development, delivery and ongoing review of the full-time and part-time post-secondary programs and services in the department. The Associate Dean will ensure that the programs are effectively and efficiently delivered, meet Ministry, College Quality Assurance Audit Process (CQAAP), Credit Validation Service (CVS) or Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB) standards, and are relevant to the needs of college students. The School of Justice and Fitness offers a range of programs including Advanced Law Enforcement and Investigations, Police Foundations, Protection, Security and Investigation - Customs Border Services, Protection, Security and Investigation - Private Security, Community and Justice Services, Fitness and Health Promotion, Exercise, Science for Health and Performance.
The Associate Dean is responsible for planning and implementing the academic delivery of School of Justice and Fitness courses and programs, in line with college budget and enrolment forecasts, while providing leadership in the development and renewal of curriculum, effective hiring and development of faculty, and management of workload assignments. The incumbent will supervise faculty and staff as they manage the delivery of courses and programs in the portfolio. This role requires a high degree of collaboration with the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, and college stakeholders to ensure that courses and programs are delivered effectively and efficiently with a focus on quality and student success. Resolving academic integrity cases, dealing with student issues, attending community and college recruitment events, and participating on college-wide committees are also responsibilities of the Associate Dean.
