Applications are invited for the position of Associate Dean, School of Community Services in the Community, Justice, and Fitness Studies Division, currently located at the Welland Campus. The salary range is $125,153 to $156,441 for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Reporting to the Dean of Community, Justice and Fitness Studies, the successful candidate works collaboratively with a high performance academic, administrative, and support teams to lead in the development, delivery and ongoing review of the full-time and part-time post-secondary programs and services in the department. The Associate Dean will ensure that the programs are effectively and efficiently delivered, meet Ministry, College Quality Assurance Audit Processes (CQAAP), Credential Validation Service (CVS) or Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB) standards, and are relevant to the needs of college students. The School of Community Services offers a range of human service programs including Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistance and Adult Supports, Child and Youth Care, Social Service Worker, Recreation Therapy, Autism and Behavioural Science, Addictions and Mental Health and Resource Consulting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for planning and implementing the academic delivery of School of Community Services courses and programs, in line with college budget and enrolment forecasts Provide leadership in the development, design, and renewal of curriculum Conduct effective hiring and development of faculty, and management of workload assignments Supervise faculty and staff as they manage the delivery of courses and programs in the portfolio Collaborate with the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, and college partners to ensure that courses and programs are delivered effectively and efficiently with a focus on quality and student success Provide academic leadership and strategic oversight for student field placements, ensuring high-quality experiential learning outcomes and effective coordination of placement processes; supervise and support full-time and part-time staff responsible for direct student placement support Resolve academic integrity cases, dealing with student issues, attending community and college recruitment events, and participating on college-wide committees are also responsibilities of the Associate Dean

Qualifications:

Master's degree in a relevant field of study Minimum nine (9) years combined experience which includes academic leadership, management and industry experience Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching at a post-secondary/adult level Experience with supervision of staff within a unionized environment Academic planning, enrollment management and budget experience Experience with program or curriculum design and development in a post-secondary/adult environment Demonstrated experience in developing student-centered programs and supports Advanced leadership, team building, collaboration, and networking skills Superior skills in communication, organization, problem solving/conflict resolution, and prioritizing within a multi-faceted role Preferred candidates will have experience in enrolment management and budgeting experience Preferred candidates will have a proven ability in moving ideas from conceptual to operational
