La Cite universitaire francophone (La Cite) is the University of Regina's hub for French-language education, research, and community engagement. Our mission is to meet the educational needs of Saskatchewan's Francophone community--welcoming learners of all backgrounds and mother tongues. We are more than an academic unit: La Cite is a dynamic centre where students, faculty, and the community come together to explore, exchange, and reflect on the issues shaping today's Francophonie. La Cite is seeking an

Associate Dean (Academic & Research)

. Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean will play a critical role in advancing La Cite's academic mission and fulfilling its provincial mandate to serve francophone communities in Saskatchewan and beyond.

Specific Accountabilities:


Provide Academic Leadership:

Lead La Cite's academic programs (credit and non-credit, undergraduate and graduate), including the academic and non-academic teams within. Coordinating the development, maintenance, and delivery of undergraduate and graduate programs in La Cite, and ensure that the unit's undergraduate and graduate programs, minors, majors, certificates and academic collaborations are innovative and serve the Francophones and Francophiles of Saskatchewan.

Represent La Cite in Governance:

Actively engage in the University of Regina's governance processes, serving on committees such as the Council Committee on Undergraduate Admissions and Studies (CCUAS), Council Committed of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (CCFGSR) and all other relevant committees.

Oversee and Direct La Cite's Research Initiatives:

Direct the Centre canadien de recherche sur les francophonies en milieu minoritaire (CRFM).

Oversee the Centre de formation:

Working in collaboration with the Manager of the Centre de formation, the Associate Dean is responsible for the oversight of the non-credit centre, Centre de formation, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with La Cite's mission.

Support Faculty Members:

Contribute to the performance review process for La Cite's academic staff, support the scholarship activity of the faculty members, and the support teaching activities of academic staff (including sessionals) to ensure the delivery of high quality academic programs.

Strengthen Academic Services:

Oversee the delivery of academic services, specifically academic advising and program option/development.

Collaborate Strategically:

Work closely with the Dean, staff, and other campus leaders to advance La Cite's provincial mandate, strengthen partnerships, and represent the unit at university and community levels.

La Cite recherche un

doyen associe (affaires academiques et recherche).

Sous la responsabilite du doyen, le doyen associe jouera un role essentiel dans la promotion de la mission academique de La Cite et dans la realisation de son mandat provincial au service des communautes francophones de la Saskatchewan et d'ailleurs.

Responsabilites specifiques :


Assurer le leadership academique :

Diriger les programmes academiques de La Cite (credites et non credites, de premier cycle et de deuxieme cycle), y compris les equipes academiques et non academiques qui les composent. Coordonner le developpement, le maintien et la prestation des programmes de premier cycle et de deuxieme cycle a La Cite, et veiller a ce que les programmes de premier cycle et de deuxieme cycle, les mineures, les majeures, les certificats et les collaborations academiques de l'unite soient innovants et servent les francophones et les francophiles de la Saskatchewan.

Representer La Cite dans la gouvernance :

participer activement aux processus de gouvernance de l'Universite de Regina, en siegeant a des comites tels que le Comite du Conseil sur les admissions et les etudes de premier cycle (CCUAS), le Comite du Conseil de la Faculte des etudes superieures et de la recherche (CCFGSR) et tous les autres comites pertinents.

Superviser et diriger les initiatives de recherche de La Cite :

Diriger le Centre canadien de recherche sur les francophonies en milieu minoritaire (CRFM).

Superviser le Centre de formation :

En collaboration avec le directeur du Centre de formation, le vice-doyen est charge de superviser le Centre de formation, qui n'offre pas de credits, afin d'assurer l'efficacite de ses services et leur conformite avec la mission de La Cite.

Soutenir les membres du corps professoral :

contribuer au processus d'evaluation du rendement du personnel academique de La Cite, soutenir les activites de recherche des membres du corps professoral et soutenir les activites d'enseignement du personnel academique (y compris les charges de cours) afin de garantir la prestation de programmes academiques de haute qualite.

Renforcer les services academiques :

superviser la prestation des services academiques, en particulier l'orientation academique et le choix/developpement des programmes.

Collaborer de maniere strategique :

travailler en etroite collaboration avec le doyen, le personnel et les autres dirigeants du campus afin de faire progresser le mandat provincial de La Cite, de renforcer les partenariats et de representer l'unite au niveau universitaire et communautaire.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

Doctoral degree, in social sciences or humanities. A specialization in translation, interpretation, or communication is an asset. Full mastery of written and oral French and English. Administrative, leadership, and management experience. University administration and governance experience is an asset. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues across the institution and with Francophone community organizations. Excellent leadership skills, including leading and building a team, the capacity to balance competing demands, and bring about change while maintaining positive working relationships. Effective communicator. Experience and ability in conflict management and resolution. An understanding of the Francophone minority context and the post-secondary needs of Francophone and Francophile students. Experience managing complex and diverse programs. Working knowledge of Federal policies and programs related to bilingualism and an understanding of French Language Services Act and regulations. Knowledge of provincial government decision-making processes is an asset. Experience managing budgets, strategic planning, and setting strategic goals.








Exigences :


Doctorat en sciences sociales ou humaines. Une specialisation en traduction, interpretation ou communication est un atout. Maitrise parfaite du francais et de l'anglais ecrits et oraux. Experience en administration, en leadership et en gestion. Une experience en administration et en gouvernance universitaire est un atout. Solides competences interpersonnelles et capacite a travailler en collaboration avec les etudiants et les collegues de l'etablissement et avec les organisations communautaires francophones. Excellentes competences en leadership, notamment en matiere de direction et de constitution d'une equipe, capacite a concilier des exigences concurrentes et a apporter des changements tout en maintenant des relations de travail positives. Communicateur efficace. Experience et capacite en matiere de gestion et de resolution des conflits. Comprehension du contexte minoritaire francophone et des besoins postsecondaires des etudiants francophones et francophiles. Experience dans la gestion de programmes complexes et diversifies. Connaissance pratique des politiques et programmes federaux lies au bilinguisme et comprehension de la Loi sur les services en francais et de ses reglements. La connaissance des processus decisionnels du gouvernement provincial est un atout. Experience dans la gestion de budgets, la planification strategique et l'etablissement d'objectifs strategiques.
