Learn more about the opportunities we create for students, employees, and our province at .Position SummaryThe role of the Associate Dean (AD) is to provide academic leadership to the Centre for Academic Innovation to promote excellence in teaching and learning and to foster a culture of scholarly activity. The AD provides support and mentorship as the direct supervisor to faculty and staff.The Associate Dean is responsible for the administration in matters related to human resources, facility resources, budget and financial planning as per delegated signing authority, program accreditation, and internal and external liaison as assigned. This role works closely with the Dean, Program Chairs, faculty and support staff in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum development and faculty professional development.Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides management and supervision to faculty and staff.
  • Provides academic leadership in the development of new curriculum in consultation with Dean.
  • Ensures that curriculum development is operating at a level of excellence.
  • Manages internal and external community relationships/liaisons.
  • Facilitates teaching, scholarship and applied research.
Required qualifications:
  • Minimum of master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in related field.
  • Five years experience in a post-secondary environment including two years experience working in Competency Based Education curriculum development.
  • An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
  • Possesses superior leadership, people management and coaching/mentoring skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high degree of self-motivation.
