Parsons continues growing in Western Canada and we are looking for talented civil, bridge, and transportation engineers and technicians to join our core infrastructure team in Manitoba and help us drive this growth. Come work with us to build our core team and set our success forward in Manitoba. Our new office in Winnipeg, MB has an opportunity for a BRIDGE EIT to join our mobility solution team servicing our projects and clients in Manitoba. In this role you will participate in creating innovative, practical solutions to various bridge projects and structures in Manitoba, and across Canada.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll work on designing and managing projects with a strong work ethic. You\xe2\x80\x99ll need a collaborative mindset and strong communication skills. Other broad skills that will be required to execute a variety of tasks include proposal preparation, engineering design, drawing review, and coordination with various project team members, sub-consultants, clients, and contractors. Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as structural designer for bridge design and rehabilitation projects.
  • Participate in the preparation of deliverables (design calculations, feasibility and preliminary-design studies, structural analysis, plans, specifications, proposals, estimates and work schedules, review of contractor submissions, etc.).
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to provide coordinated designs.
  • Ensure that deliverables are in conformance to technical guides, company\xe2\x80\x99s standards as well as applicable codes.
  • Performing inspections of existing bridges and other structures under construction.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected subject to project needs.
  • Perform other engineering activities associated with this position, as needed.

Minimum Requirements
  • 4-year degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • An EIT registration with EGM or other provincial engineering associations.
  • 0-6 years or more of related bridge engineering design experience with hands-on experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA S6).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Autodesk and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications,
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, CSiBridge, Midas Civil,.. etc.)
