You will provide consulting expertise to clients including: \xc2\xb7 Identify and develop new client relationships to facilitate new business opportunities to meet sales targets and achieve steady sales growth across the organization (Group Benefits, Group Retirement, and Individual (Life, CI, and DI). \xc2\xb7 As you build your client base you will grow existing client relationships, while identifying opportunities for adding other lines of coverage, products, or services. Candidates with 3 years related industry experience, especially those holding any of the following insurance related professional designations (such as: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS); Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation) along with proven sales and business development skills are encouraged to apply. About the Opportunity The Associate Advisor provides consulting expertise, client management in addition to growing and building business with current and prospective clients to ensure steady sales growth across the business. As an advocate for your client, you champion their needs and proactively communicate on all service-related issues to develop long-term relationships. The role liaises with clients, internal stakeholders, insurance companies and carriers. Key Responsibilities include: \xc2\xb7 As you grow your client base, engage clients to ensure you are exceeding client experience serving as their primary contact on delivery of all services including consulting, account management, sales, and policy service. \xc2\xb7 Oversee and prepare client deliverables including: o Group Benefits - Reports and presentations regarding plan design, pricing, funding, employee contributions, strategies, reserve calculations, benchmarking studies, negotiations, renewals, and vendor management). o Insurance (Life, CI & DI) - Policy sales and service; Associate Advisors also provide policy service support for other DFG Advisors. o Group & Individual Retirement \xe2\x80\x93 Working with prospective clients to help them establish company retirement plans. You will be involved in the complete sales process including prospecting, completing RFP\xe2\x80\x99s, and implementing group retirement plans. You will also assist employees with their saving and investing strategies. \xc2\xb7 Facilitate and support a quality service culture including continually adding value to the customer partnership beyond price alone. This includes advising clients of emerging industry trends and best practices. \xc2\xb7 Oversees the execution of major projects including plan marketing, requests for proposal, carrier implementation and renewal (GB and Insurance). \xc2\xb7 Maintaining service and revenue accountability for a block of clients. \xc2\xb7 Growing and building business with current and prospective clients. Follow up on new leads to generate new business. Track activity and complete ongoing reporting (progress, sales pipeline, expenses, etc.) \xc2\xb7 Staying informed in other lines of business and actively identifying cross-sell as well as upselling opportunities. \xc2\xb7 Proactively resolve client issues by communicating with internal departments, insurance carriers and clients as necessary. \xc2\xb7 Work closely with the DFG team to formulate and implement client centric strategies to deepen client relationships. \xc2\xb7 Continue with professional development to enhance your skills and abilities. \xc2\xb7 Mentoring and supporting the growth and development of the DFG team. \xc2\xb7 Attend industry and company events/meetings to actively build and strengthen your professional network (industry affiliations and intermediary partners). Education and Experience \xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree and holding any of the following insurance related professional designations such as: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS); Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU); Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation). Willingness to work towards other designations is an asset \xc2\xb7 Minimum 3 years related industry experience with a strong knowledge of group benefit products as well as applicable legislation \xc2\xb7 Proven experience and success in the design & management of group benefits programs gained in a consulting, brokerage, or carrier environment \xc2\xb7 Prior new business development experience and if it is in our industry/related (wealth management) even better \xc2\xb7 LLQP/Life Licensed in the Province of BC (or willingness to become licensed within the first 3 months is required) \xc2\xb7 Must have a valid drivers\xe2\x80\x99 license and ongoing access to a vehicle for travel primarily in the lower mainland. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships (clients, internal, insurance carriers and business community) \xc2\xb7 Proven experience in sales process (from initial contact through to end of sale) \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets/forecasts plus maintain steady sales growth and continuous new business generation \xc2\xb7 Ability to positively influence and negotiate with others to achieve results balancing the interests of the client and DFG \xc2\xb7 Self-motivated and works well independently as well as within a collaborative team \xc2\xb7 Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills \xc2\xb7 Strong communication (written and oral), and presentation/facilitation skills \xc2\xb7 Excellent time management skills \xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of the regulatory requirements affecting DC and DB retirement plans \xc2\xb7 Strong marketing skills and ability to use social media as a marketing/sales tool is an asset \xc2\xb7 Intermediate working knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); proficient in other technology tools/platforms (CRMs, etc.); adapts and quickly learns new technologies How to Apply This position will remain open until the right hire is made.
