Job Summary:

The Associate Accountant supports the Finance team by performing a variety of accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient month-end close processes. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, maintaining financial records, and assisting with other ad-hoc requests. The Associate Accountant partners closely with other members of the accounting and finance teams to provide timely, reliable financial information and to ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.

What you'll do

Inter-company and balance sheet account reconciliations and participates in the global intercompany reconciliation process. Has daily transactional accounting responsibilities, including but not limited to: recording daily intercompany billing and purchase transactions, recording daily inventory transactions, supporting monthly reconciliations with brand owners. Assists other team members with the completion of monthly Pernod Ricard reporting packages. PO generation process. Both automatically and manually. Resolving invoice discrepancies, reconciliation of inventory stocks at various locations and ad-hoc requests and special projects. Routine journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Monthly VAT / Sales tax filing and remittance requirements for tax reporting for several entities in groups.

Required qualifications

University degree in accounting/finance or related field. A desire to pursue Canadian CPA designation - registration as a student with CPA Ontario preferred. 1-3 years accounting experience in a similar environment.
