The Chemicals Group at Intertek Assuris is looking for a motivated, client focused, recent science graduate to support our regulatory consulting services. The Associate I US Regulatory will work within a team to deliver innovative and bespoke assurance expertise that supports client projects focused on matters related to chemical regulatory compliance. Expertise areas include US chemical/polymer/organism notification/registration, with general support for jurisdictions around the globe. In this exciting role, the candidate will utilize their scientific background and exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills; learn the regulations governing chemicals under the US TSCA and State regulations; work with a team of experienced regulatory affairs/scientific subject matter experts and the broader group of industry leading notification/registration experts; become a valued partner for our clients in the chemical industry; and champion their personal growth plan for scientific assurance excellence.

Responsibilities

• Support development of the preparation and successful processing of accurate and complete Regulatory Notifications via:

• Support product compliance strategies and related project proposals, gaining advice, as needed, from Associate Director, project manager and/or scientists
• Working with client and other Company staff to gather, review and understand information required to prepare regulatory notifications, seeking advice as required from Associate Director
• Compiling, summarizing and understanding administrative/technical information into the prescribed format, depending on government requirements (with assistance from administrative support staff, and others, where required)
• Arranging for final delivery to government authorities, tracking progress and communicating status to clients
• Support Associate Director to work with team to gather, summarize, interpret, deliver information related to regulatory amendments.
• Work with Associate Director to prepare proposals and promotional packages for potential clients
• Work with Associate Director and Admin to coordinate the release of promotional newsletters and other promotional material.
• Draft newsletters and other promotional announcements
• Manage regulatory tracking and project management databases associated with subject matter area.
• Organize pertinent information according to project requirements.
• Research regulatory information: contact various jurisdictions to obtain their regulations; directly contact officials at regulatory agencies; review client material to be analyzed; compare regulations with client information and make recommendations based on the comparison results; prepare draft report/summaries of data to be reviewed by senior regulatory staff member.
• Contribute to regulatory horizon scanning: monitor new information (from websites, journals, TOCs, listservs, etc.) related to global substance management; write monthly report.
• Assist senior scientific staff with special requests.

Qualifications

EXTERNAL EDUCATION

• B.Sc. Degree in Science: environmental, toxicology, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, etc. (0-1 years experience)
• Aptitude and interest in regulatory scientific issues
