DescriptionThis position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on the income scale of the six-step Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP).The successful candidate will be offered a contingent tenured or tenure-track appointment with the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, which is in accordance with the University of Alberta Faculty Agreement and offers a comprehensive benefits package.The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applications for an academic position within the Division of Pediatric Immunology, Hematology/Oncology, Palliative Care and Environmental Health (iHOPE) in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. This position is a part of the Alberta Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP).This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) tenure track (contingent) position, comprising approximately 60% time for clinical service and 40% time for academic pursuits divided between research, teaching, and administrative duties (negotiable).The successful applicant will join the iHOPE (Immunology, Hematology, Oncology and Palliative care) division which includes five pediatric hematologists as well as multiple others including pediatric oncology, immunology and palliative care subspecialists, and basic scientists. Pediatric Hematology provides a full spectrum of classical hematological services. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has a fully accredited Pediatric Hematology/Oncology subspecialty training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The division has an active basic and clinical science research program, collaborating locally, nationally, and internationally.This role would provide clinical support to existing pediatric hematology and KIDCLOT inpatient and outpatient services with a focus on thrombosis. The Pediatric KIDCLOT team is an internationally recognized program providing thrombosis, thromboprophylaxis and perioperative management as part of the Stollery Children's Hospital Cardiac Sciences program and the Western Canadian Heart Network.   • MD degree (or equivalent)
  • Completed subspecialty training in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
  • Advanced training in Pediatric thrombosis, specifically cardiac thrombosis care
  • Clinical research experience
