The province of Alberta offers the most unique pharmacy practice environment in North America where pharmacists can prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, provide injections, and receive remuneration for patient care services.The Faculty annually admits 140 student pharmacists to the undergraduate pharmacy program and offers a number of post-professional programs. The Faculty also has approximately 60 graduate students on an annual basis.Position Summary:The individual will have teaching responsibilities in the pharmacy programs, provide service to the Faculty, and University, and may engage in scholarly activities. Clinical practice is encouraged.Duties/Key Responsibilities:Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching and coordination of courses related to pharmaceutics and pharmacy math, including the compounding skills section of the PharmD program. This involves the development and delivery of course material, student assessment, and ensuring that coursework meets defined educational outcomes and accreditation standards. Compounding skills are an important component in the curriculum, linking to therapeutic modules and clinical placements and providing students with the core patient care skills required for pharmacy practice in Alberta.Qualifications
