Assistant Tree Farm Manager INL Group of Companies has been in business for over 70 years. Our divisions include our Landscape Maintenance Division, Stone Yard Division, Landscape Construction, Garden Centre and Tree Farm Division. We currently have an opening for a Full Time Assistant Tree Farm Manager for our Tree Farm located in North Hamilton-Near African Lion Safari. Responsibilities include assisting the Tree Farm Manager with the following: \xc2\xb7 Maintaining the care of plants, flowers, and trees \xc2\xb7 Supervise people and resources to ensure the production of healthy and beautiful flowers, plants, and trees that will be sold to the public or wholesale retailers \xc2\xb7 Direct nursery staff to cultivate and harvest trees, flowers, shrubs and other plants \xc2\xb7 Provide training to the nursery staff \xc2\xb7 Protect nursery plants from diseases, weeds, insects and pests \xc2\xb7 Implement the best standards in nursery management issues \xc2\xb7 Must maintain clean work areas \xc2\xb7 Able to work either outdoors or indoors \xe2\x80\x93 indoors might be at a desk completing paperwork or on the phone, outdoors involves hand-on, physical exertion \xc2\xb7 Able to handle a fast-paced, high pressure environment during peak season especially \xc2\xb7 Able to work with a diverse workforce \xc2\xb7 Able to handle changes in temperature and humidity \xc2\xb7 Ensure all operating procedures are followed Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Degree in horticulture or a related field is required \xc2\xb7 Two years of experience as a nursery/greenhouse worker \xc2\xb7 Ability to supervise others \xc2\xb7 Valid G driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a clean abstract \xc2\xb7 Fluent English required \xc2\xb7 Ability to speak Spanish is an asset \xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills \xc2\xb7 Thorough knowledge of plant propagation and cultivation \xc2\xb7 Experienced in greenhouse growing techniques \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, and watering and planting procedures \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of various plants and plant names \xc2\xb7 Must be professional, dependable, organized and have attention to detail \xc2\xb7 Must have a great work ethic, be a team-player and have an entrepreneurial drive \xc2\xb7 Must be able to handle repetitive tasks such as bending, sitting, crouching and standing for long periods. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work extended hours as required including weekends \xc2\xb7 Able to use Microsoft office software such as Outlook, Word and Excel Job Type: Full-time Schedule:
