The Assistant to the Head Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of Football North. This role combines administrative, operational, and football-related responsibilities to ensure the program runs smoothly and aligns with Football North's mission of developing student-athletes on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities and Administrative Support & Office Organization
Manage the day-to-day operations of the football office, including filing, scheduling, communication, and records management.
Maintain organized systems for waivers, eligibility forms, travel documents, and player information.
Serve as the primary liaison between the Head Coach and school administration, staff, parents, and external partners.
Assist with communication to athletes, families, and stakeholders through email, social media, and newsletters.
Travel & Logistics (Including USA Travel)
Coordinate all aspects of team travel, including booking transportation, lodging, and meals.
Oversee travel documentation and compliance requirements for cross-border trips to the United States.
Ensure players and staff have required identification, waivers, and clearances for U.S. entry.
Prepare detailed travel itineraries and act as the point of contact during travel.
Football Operations & Player Support
Support the Head Coach with practice planning, drills, and on-field setup.
Assist with film breakdown, scouting reports, and data entry for player evaluation.
Provide mentorship and academic support coordination for student-athletes.
Help maintain a positive, disciplined, and supportive team culture.
Ensure player health and safety protocols are followed in collaboration with trainers.
Event & Program Support
Assist in organizing special events such as combines, showcases, and tournaments.
Support recruitment efforts by maintaining athlete profiles and highlight film distribution.
Represent Football North professionally at games, events, and community functions.
Qualifications
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in football (coaching, playing, or operations) preferred but not required.
Proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, Hudl, etc.) an asset.
Experience coordinating travel logistics, preferably cross-border, is an asset.
A commitment to student-athlete development and academic success.
