Assistant Supervisor

for our Maintenance Division based out of Calgary, AB. This is position has a 7 day on and 7 day off alternating day/night shift rotation, working 12-hour shifts.

What is the role?

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor leads a dedicated crew responsible for providing maintenance services to the Deerfoot Trail and Northeast and Northwest sections of the Stoney Trail.

Responsibilities include:

Working with the Supervisor, implementing the work plan, assisting in organizing the work forces and checking work. Leading the performance of the operators, labourers and/or contract staff. Participating in management of human resources including training and orientation. ISO requirements including conducting company internal audits, completing written reports and ensuring compliance with the CMSL Quality and Environmental Management System. Managing equipment and work sites and ensuring they are kept operational. Staying current with work area activities and identify hazards. Promoting teamwork and morale. Ensuring timely accurate communication of all information and completion of all required documentation. Operating equipment as required and ensuring direct reports are aware of how to properly operate any new equipment. Other duties as assigned.

What do we value?

3 Years of Experience in a highway maintenance/road construction environment and with highway maintenance/construction equipment Experience in understanding contracts requirements Valid Minimum Class 3 driver license (with air) and clean driver's abstract Possess exceptional understanding of safety processes/tools and hazard recognition
