Role Overview



The Assistant Site Supervisor works closely with the Site Supervisor to support all aspects of project management, safety compliance, and quality control. This hands-on role requires technical skill, organizational ability, and leadership presence to help ensure every home meets Avalon's high standard of quality, craftsmanship, and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities



Health & Safety

Complete Daily Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) Conduct daily toolbox meetings and associated activities as directed by the Site Supervisor Complete weekly skid steer inspections (if applicable) Assist with enforcement of safety policies for all staff, trades, and visitors Attend scheduled safety meetings Maintain safety measures such as ramps, railings, and barricades Ensure job site cleanliness and safety in line with Avalon standards and OHS guidelines Fill in for the Site Supervisor in their absence to complete all COR compliance items Report and document any near misses or incident
Project Lifecycle (IPCS - Integrated Production Control System)

Assist Site Supervisor in maintaining project schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis Attend scheduling and tactical meetings with Elevate Create and maintain daily and 4-week schedule updates Communicate schedule updates with trades and other contractors Assist with inspections, permits, and other regulatory requirements Identify potential schedule roadblocks and propose solutions
Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)

Support quality control at each stage of construction, including documenting, scheduling, and reporting on deficiencies Complete pre-occupancy quality control and touch-ups Support post-occupancy warranty and service work
Technical Skills & Hands-On Work

Perform adjustments to framing, drywall, paint, or other items as required Communicate effectively with trades, suppliers, and customers Understand and work within Net Zero construction scope and specifications Follow up on outstanding hand-off items with trades (clean-up, leftover materials, tool storage, etc.) Complete required training (e.g., Skid Steer certification, First Aid, Elevate training etc.)
Site Maintenance & Logistics

Manage tool and material inventory and storage Ensure site security and controlled access points Track and manage rental equipment inventory and returns Inspect and coordinate fencing placements and adjustments Manage logistics for materials, including storage, garbage bins, and drywall bins Maintain cleanliness in units under construction, construction trailers, show homes/sales trailers Load, unload, and move construction supplies both manually and with equipment

What You Bring



Minimum 1 year of experience in construction or as an assistant site supervisor, with multi-family homebuilding experience considered an asset Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with trades, suppliers, and stakeholders Hands-on experience with construction tasks and familiarity with safety regulations Understanding of scheduling, inspections, and quality control processes Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle Professional attitude aligned with Avalon's core values: Accountability, Sustainability, Agility, and Passion
