We're excited to be supporting Enns Brothers in their search for a dedicated and solutions-oriented Assistant Service Manager to join their team in Steinbach. This is a hands-on leadership role that plays a key part in the day-to-day success of the Service Department - helping ensure efficient operations, a safe and productive environment, and top-tier customer support.

As the Assistant Service Manager, you will:

  • Support the Service Manager in overseeing daily operations and lead the department in their absence.
  • Coordinate technician workloads and match assignments to skill level and job complexity.
  • Monitor shop operations to maximize throughput while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Serve as a mentor to new technicians and contribute to their ongoing development.
  • Assist service writers with technical expertise and customer inquiries.
  • Help manage the performance review process and employee development plans.
  • Collaborate with Parts and Sales departments to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Maintain shop tools, equipment, trucks, and the facility through preventative maintenance practices.
  • Uphold safety standards and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Ensure all service work aligns with John Deere's customer experience standards.
  • Contribute to creating a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
You and Your Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a busy service department environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Journeyman technician certification considered an asset (preferably JD Tech).
  • Training in health and safety is an asset.
  • Background in agriculture or mechanical service strongly preferred.
  • The ability to coach others while driving quality and efficiency.
  • Strong skills in time management, communication, and team leadership.
  • A passion for customer service and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficient with MS Office; familiar with technical manuals and diagnostic research.
  • Committed to safety and compliance with WHMIS, WCB, and employment standards.
